We have had a very exciting time in Iris class over the past month. Christmas is now a distant memory Our new years’ resolution is to become more active so we try to go for walks every day. We have had our swimming sessions in the hydro pool for the last three weeks and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. We made Chinese Lanterns as it was Chinese New Year on Saturday 25th January. Food Dudes have started back again in the school so everyone is eating very healthily.
Our student placement from LIT has started with us on 13th January. Sandra is her name and we are delighted to have her with us in Iris.
Iris class consists of 8 fabulous students ranging from the age of 15-18 years of age.
We work on ASDAN-based activities incorporating life skills activities with literacy, mathematics, well-being and SESE. We have excellent facilities in our classroom; ipads, laptops, interactive whiteboard, a sensory area and a chill-out zone with a couch!
We enjoy music lessons every morning with our friends in Violet class, our time in the sensory room relaxing and finally, cleaning up the garden and planting bulbs beside the swing.
