Since March 12th, teachers have been delivering meaningful content remotely to our students. We are doing this in a variety of ways, concentrating on language and communication, SPHE and music. Our main aim is connection with our students so we are open to being led by them and their families as to what works best in terms of contact and content.
Story Time and Circle Time (either recorded or live) are working well at the moment and allowing wonderful contact and connection between class teams and our students and families.

The Primary School Curriculum delivered at St. Gabriel’s is in line with the Primary Curriculum delivered in primary schools across the country.
The aim is to provide holistic education to enable children to live their lives to the fullest extent possible and to realise their potential as unique individuals.
The Curriculum is structured in six curricular areas with 10 subjects. The students work in the areas of;
- Numeracy
- Literacy
- SESE (history, geography, science)
- SPHE
- The Arts (visual arts, music, drama)
- Physical Education
The primary curriculum aims to provide a broad learning experience and encourages a rich variety of approaches to teaching and learning that cater to the different needs of individual children.
The primary curriculum is designed to nurture the child in all dimensions of his or her life—spiritual, moral, cognitive, emotional, imaginative, aesthetic, social and physical.
