April 20th, 2020 – Distance Support for our Students
Our most important school initiative right now is supporting our students at a distance. This is not an easy task as we know that our students benefit from face to face, sound, touch, physical presence. Having said that, school staff are working hard to upskill and work on their tech skills using Zoom, Seesaw, Forums and Class Dojo to deliver content to our students in a way that is meaningful for our students. We have prepared a distance learning plan and we are working to implement this each day. As a parent, if there is something that you need that you are not getting, please contact principal at 083 8583998 or firstname.lastname@example.org and we will endeavour to help.
We are involved in lots of curriculum-based initiatives at school which allow us to develop a collaborative and thematic approach to school activities. These initiatives extend to drama, physical activity, music, science and STEM subjects, well being (SPHE), numeracy and literacy.
We are embarking on this journey together! Students and their families are completing their Athlete Participation Forms. Staff are completing their volunteer forms. Some staff have been on a visit to Scoil Aonghusa to get some advice, ideas and guidance. We are looking forward to getting going in order to deliver to our students events and experiences that will enrich their whole lives.
