Green Schools Flag at St. Gabriels

Green Schools

Plans are afoot for a WATER day of action in summer term. If it gets combined with Physical Activity Week, it may become a Week of Water. Great fun was had last year so looking forward to this!

The Green Schools Committee is active in the school having just secured our second green flag for Energy. We know that the work is never ending and we look forward to moving on to focusing on the theme of water in the Academic Year 2019-2020 while retaining our interest/involvement in litter/recycling and energy.

We are grateful for the support of the staff and students of the school as well as the whole school community including school management and especially our parents who always respond positively to any initiative we engage in.

Our most recent activity as Green Schools Advocates was a Climate Action Strike which took place in April. It was a lot of fun and it meant a lot too!

In fact we regularly strike for climate action and we play our part in national and international youth movements. Even if that means walking, running or wheeling out of school into the Sensory Garden for 15 minutes! And we love to get beeps from passers by!
